Our client was a passenger involved in a road traffic accident.
As a result of that road traffic accident, our client sustained multiple fractures, including fractures to the left femur, left ankle, and pelvis and soft tissue injuries to the left knee. They were admitted to hospital for emergency surgery and remained there for a 3-week period. They suffered with psychological effects, experiencing flashbacks as a consequence of the accident and were no longer able to drive.
The claim was brought against two Defendants, and a split trial was ordered in the matter, resulting in the insurers indemnifying the vehicle driver making a formal admission of liability to causing the accident.
Medical records were obtained from an Orthopaedic Surgeon, a Consultant Psychiatrist, and quantum reports in terms of Accommodation, Care and Employment.
A trial was listed for July 2025 which had to be vacated to facilitate further surgery.
The claim settled at a Joint Settlement Meeting in March 2026, in the sum of £556,000.
