Our client, Miss X, was involved in a road traffic accident on 08.04.2022. She was a passenger in a vehicle which veered off the road and hit a lamppost at approximately 30-40mph.
Miss X suffered a laceration to her chin, which required stitches and left a scar. She sustained a chipped front tooth and a cut on the inside of her bottom lip, also requiring stitches, internal and external bruising to her ribs, shoulder and back, whiplash type injuries and hypotensive episodes. She suffers psychologically due to the accident and her injuries.
The Defendant admitted liability to causing the accident and we proceeded to obtain medical expert reports from a GP expert, Plastic Surgeon, Psychologist, Dental and Cosmetics expert. While her scar improved, it remained visible and would require covering products.
On disclosure of the medical evidence, an initial settlement offer was submitted to the defendant, to which they failed to respond despite continued chasing. Court proceedings were issued, following which Girlings were able to negotiate a successful settlement in the sum of £40,000 on behalf of our client.
