We are pleased to be signatories of the Serious Injury Guide.
The Serious Injury Guide provides a code of practice to encourage solicitors (who are bringing compensation claims for clients who have been injured) to work in tandem with insurance companies to help claims proceed to a satisfactory conclusion as smoothly as possible.
The Guide applies to claims for compensation worth over £250,000.00 and applies to accident claims but not to claims for medical negligence.
Many large insurance companies have signed the Guide, together with the Motor Insurers Bureau (which deals with claims against uninsured and untraced motorists), which means that we can work collaboratively with them with a view to bringing the claim to an early satisfactory conclusion. Although we will still obviously be aiming to recover as much compensation for our clients as possible (and the insurance companies will want to keep their own liability down), both sides will work together to try to find middle ground.
In our experience, a good working relationship with the insurance company leads to better outcomes, faster settlements, and lower legal costs, and we are therefore happy to be a signatory to the Serious Injury Guide as being in the best interests of our clients who are claiming for higher-value injuries suffered in accidents.
