Our managing director, Jonathan Pidduck, has just concluded a claim for compensation for severe brain injuries which our client sustained in Kent when he ran into the road and was struck by a passing car. He was a child when the accident happened.
His injuries were life changing, and our priority was to ensure that he received the rehabilitation which he needed, bearing in mind that only very limited medical treatment is available on the NHS in Kent once people who have sustained brain injuries are discharged from hospital. Working in tandem with a case manager, we were able to ensure that he received intensive support from a number of medical specialists including neuropsychologists, occupational therapists etc. Provision was also made for brain injury trained support workers to help look after him. Funding for this was obtained from the driver’s insurance company.
The claim settled “out of court” after we reached agreement with the driver’s legal team over the amount which should be paid in compensation. The full agreed value of the claim ran into eight figures
